Diego Knows Your Name is a 12" doll that incorporates your child's name and favorite things into their friendly character phrases and songs.
* Plush comes with a USB cable, as well as a CD Rom for Mom to download the child's name and favorite things into the doll. The plush also has an internal clock so that the content of what it says will change depending on the time of day (morning, noon and night)
* The character will sing several songs and tell stories that incorporate the personalized information downloaded into the plush. Diego has roto arms and legs and a roto head with sculpted hair.

He was immediately drawn to the toy and after I wrangled it out of the package, he held it. His torso is a rectangular heavy plastic part. In his back, there is a velcro strip behind which is battery pack, on/off switch and USB cord port. To program child's name, you install cd to computer (which takes way longer than expected). Then you have to connect Diego to computer via cord and wait for computer to recognize "human interface" hardware. then you can run program, choose child's name (includes some pretty unusual ones, but they say you can call in if you have one that's not listed), choose child's favorite color, food, animal, friend's name. You can also program child's bday, wake up time, snack time bedtime (I skipped these). Then Diego will say, Hola xxx, Soy Diego. I think that I really want my boys to like "boy" dolls, but they just don't. This Diego looks like Diego (some of the other Diego dolls are scary) and the voice is really clear and exactly mimics things that would be said in the show, so he is very identifiable. Setting him up with all the personalized info using the included CD installed on my Windows Vista laptop was a piece of cake. You get to choose your child's name (the list is quite impressive and you can call Fisher Price if your name is not listed) and you also get set him up to "know" and therefore incorporate into the things he says, your child's favorite color, favorite animal (from the Diego episodes,) favorite food, and the name of a friend.
