On sale Little Mommy My Very Real Baby Doll

Product Description

This adorable, interactive doll has incredibly lifelike movements and sounds and takes nurturing play to the next level with amazing lights and sensors. When she licks her fruit bar, her tongue lights up green and you can magically wipe it away. Her boo boo lights up and you can magically wipe it away, too. The doll randomly asks for, recognizes and responds to the fruit bar and bear accessories when placed against the magnets in her hands. A sensor on the bottom of the doll's right foot recognizes touch such as tickling and when the foot has been touched at the same time as singing a song. The doll also recognizes the lying down position as sleeping. This toy includes 1 doll plus piece-count: fruit bar, bear, band-aid, wiping cloth, bowl and spoon.

  • Product Dimensions: 16 (L) x 8 (W) x 14.5 (H)

Baby Responds to Your Touch

Prepare to be charmed by My Very Real Baby Doll. This happy, loving doll comes to life with a simple two-setting power switch (runs on four AA batteries, included). Once she's touched, she'll move her arms, tell you she loves you, say "Mommy!" and ask for a kiss. When she's touched on the left foot, left knee, or mouth, she'll squeal with ticklish delight.

She plays, she cuddles, she snuggles with her bear, and she eats when you feed her from her spoon, all the while letting you know how she's feeling with phrases like: "I'm sleepy." "Where's my bear, Mommy?" "Wanna play, Mommy? Tickle my toes!" "Hug me, Mommy." "Let's go night-night with Bear." She even asks for a kiss and gives you one back.

Doll Eats Popsicle, Holds Bear, and More

Magnets in the doll's mouth, hands, and juice Popsicle offer even more interactive fun. Baby will ask for her bear and "know" it's there when it's placed it in her hands. The red light "boo-boo" on her left knee turns off when you snap on the included bandage. After she eats her Popsicle, a green light turns on so her tongue appears to be the same color as the Popsicle. Use the cloth to wipe her face and hands when she asks to be cleaned up.

One minor technical hiccup our testers found is that the doll doesn't always differentiate correctly between a kiss, touch, or popsicle on the mouth, so she may give you a kiss when you mean to elicit the tickle response. Additionally, the boo-boo light on the knee didn't illuminate consistently.

Automatic Sleep Mode Saves Battery Power

One nice feature is that the doll will go into sleep mode if she's left alone for more than a minute or two. Sitting her up and then laying her down again wakes her up.

What's in the Box

Doll, teddy bear, Popsicle, Band-Aid, bowl and spoon, cloth, and instruction manual.

Mattel has imprisoned this doll in its box. First, you must remove the tape that hermetically seals the outer box. Next, you remove the inner box, which holds the doll. Once you've managed to cut through the invisible stretch ties that are wrapped numerous times around every single part of the doll and her accessories, get out your sharpest scissors to cut through the raffia rope that's threaded through the box and around the doll.

But, wait, the box isn't about to part with the doll just yet. I struggled with trying to disengage the doll from the back of the box for about 15 minutes (I began to wonder if the package designer used to design home monitoring ankle bracelets for a living). Then, I just happened to notice the diagram on the back of the outer box, which tells you to twist a white button on the back of the inner box counter-clockwise. Once you do, the doll pops right out. They couldn't put that message on the back of the inner box, where you'll need it the... Read more

It talks and talks and talks- my girls(ages 5 & 7) call a chit chatter, but absolutely love toting this adorable, robot thing around.

The product states the doll delivers over a 150 phrases/words- we haven't reach that, I don't think, but it sure can talk and act like it wants constant attention. Lips turn green- wipe them clean- after 'licking' the popsicle; boo-boo on leg- lights up red better after plastic bandaid is place; it kisses, wants it bear, tickle toes- it giggles, on and on, etc. with a very cute voice, I think. One reviewer stated their child loves it, but they themselves found it creepy. Probably because it does so much.

Our children rate it a big 5 Stars, and they're not big into dolls either. They carry it around, take it in the car, sit it at the table, put it to bed... It's a bit expensive- wish it were about $15-20 less, but at least our kids certainly are getting their use out of it. My recommendation: weigh your own child's desire to... Read more

I got this doll for my 2-year-old granddaughter. Bottom line first: she loves it. And that's what we look for in toys for our young'uns, isn't it?

This is a large doll, and very well made; solid construction, as you'd expect from Mattel. It should last for years. It has several accessories which can be used to make the doll do things: when she gets an "owie", there's a "bandage" that clips onto the spot so she can "heal"; she's got a popsicle that she can "lick", which makes her mouth change color, and which can then be "wiped" away; things like that. It's very interactive. This is great and very absorbing for my munchkin.

I don't know why the age recommendation is 3+. I assume it's because of the accessory parts, and that this whole society is running scared of liability lawyers.

The only real drawback here is the price. As a Vine member, I get products for free in order to review them. I don't know about shelling out over $70 for a doll, frankly... Read more
